I completely uninstalled once they started being dirty. I've said it once and I'll say it again, I'm just not using Epic. Epic on the other hand is trying to ruin everyones experiences to benefit a launcher that's not beneficial to anyone buying things. Same for Battlefield, Ubi games, Overwatch etc. I didn't care that I had to use Epic to play fortnite when I did, it's a epic game. The thing is, with those launchers, the exclusive games are all made by the company at hand for the most part. #Pubg underhand throw xbox Pc#It's less about the launcher itself as almost everyone on PC has Origin, Steam, Battle. Why would anyone be okay downgrading? They speak with the launcher they use. It's a launcher that removes a bunch of great features on Steam. If people have a issue, a game will be destroyed on PC no doubt, and I'm sure Epic is looking so hard to buy games because the launchers not likely performing how they want it to. When something is wrong, they work together for the most part. I don't see people crying about Epic Launcher, the one thing I'll admit with the PC community over the Console one. #Pubg underhand throw xbox pro#Previously just mainly using PS4 Pro and switch. I'm pretty new to PC gaming, I only seriously started playing on PC summer 2018 but had a gaming PC for about 2 years. All the while their actual storefront is barebones. What does Epic offer? They just throw money at something in order to lock other stores out. Notice how all these storefronts offer something different. ![]() Then you have Gamersgate which actively finds and publishes out if print titles for cheap. They also out the work in to make older games on newer hardware and publish smaller projects that wouldn't maje it to market otherwise. You also have VoG that does well with the anti-drm crowd. They were the first and, over time, they created a storefront with a lot to offer to the consumer. I'm not even championing Steam here I'm talking against Epic store setting a new precedent for PC gaming storefronts thinking they can now just buy exclusivity. The only games not available elsewhere were their own products, or the titles that other developers chose not to put on up with your cry harder idiocy. Valve created, essentially, the first viable PC game storefront. That is luck, even if it still required work from the team.Īnd Epic is the first company to try to buyout title releases. The game benefited off of becoming what it never was envisioned as. MadLad 1231d ago (Edited 1231d ago got lucky because their failing product that was Fortnite was able to benefit off of the boom that was Battle Royale. And they didn't get that by being lucky, they got that by being good Even the publisher based stores aren't enough, but epic has clout in the industry. In all these years, if people wanted a true competitor to steam, epic is the one likely to be that. #Pubg underhand throw xbox full#Not saying that the epic store doesn't need improvement, but in no way is epic just lucky and now full of itself to think it can compete with steam. Finding a market that was in need, from a successful developer that had quality products. #Pubg underhand throw xbox how to#Pubg could have done that, but they wanted to take MS money, leaving them with nothing but early access money until the proper lauch.Įpics success isn't one of luck, it's one of calculated decisions based on the owner Tim sweeny being rather brilliant and understanding what the industry needs, and hiring talent that understand how to make good games. ![]() Epic, more than anyone has set the direction of game development, and has been a.key factor in the popularity of both fps and cover shooters, and now they have become successful with battle royale because they kept it open to multiple platforms and found a successful way to make money off it. Their game engine revolutionized the way games were made. Rainslacker 1232d exactly was lucky about the way epic got its money? They have made quality products their entire existence. I'm not even sure they're publicly traded. They aren't in danger of losing investors. They sold that despite the potential games revenue, and despite the copious merchandising rights revenue. This is the company that said no to more gears games because they didn't want to make them anymore. ![]() Both the store and fortnite could go defunct tomorrow and that wouldn't change. No matter how this plays out for you, steam is going to be forced to react eventually, because losing out on that cut of a rather significant sales revenue for new big games is going to cause them to reconsider its cut towards the devs, and it's going to eventually maybe look at some of their policies or procedures that people have complained about over the is a billion dollar company and were that before fortnite and their store. Most dont care that much, and some are even happy for the competition. Rainslacker 1232d ago (Edited 1232d ago )Įven if thousands of others follow suit, it won't mean much for games that can sell millions. ![]()
